When I was growing up I didn’t have continuous private lessons.
And I sure didn’t know the best way to practice!
Had my folks and I realized the importance of basic set-up and good practice techniques, my musical path would have been a lot smoother.
I wouldn’t have cheated myself by focusing on speed instead of accuracy and working inefficiently toward ever-changing goals.
Eventually I learned to channel my energy, budget my time, and increase my skill level. I learned that accuracy leads to speed and relaxation fosters expression.

Sure, you could wait until your child is older. You could try to teach yourself. Or you could choose to believe you don’t have what it takes.
But you’d be wasting time, feeling inadequate, and maybe even hurting yourself if you practice something the wrong way.

Ruth is extremely caring and always made me feel welcome at lessons; I always enjoyed working with her. Even if I had not practiced as much as I should have or was not putting in my best effort, she still guided me with kindness and assisted me with anything I needed.
I could not thank Ruth enough for what she did for me and for all of her guidance and patience when teaching me. Her teaching method was so helpful in not only solving my problem but also in allowing me to enjoy playing the violin more.
