HOSPITAL PERFORMANCE

NOON Friday November 28, 2025

BR General Bluebonnet performance

ENTRANCE 3

Our usual host for the hospital concert was suddenly called out of town.
Plus, the infusion center will be closed Friday.
So there are these changes:

EVERYONE meet at 11:45 inside Entrance 3.
We’ll be performing in the lobby, not the cafeteria.

See you there!

Wear your Baton Rouge Conservatory T-shirt!

…and comfortable shoes.

We want you there even if you don’t have a shirt or if your shirt is at the bottom of a dirty clothes hamper…but stop by the school for a BRC shirt if you need one!

Recital music and Holiday music!

Be prepared to play twice in the cafeteria.

Baton Rouge, LA 70809

Please bring one dozen treats (finger food or individual-sized drinks) for the reception to follow.

There will be napkins and coolers. If your treat requires plates or flatware, please provide these for everyone.

PARK IN THE LOT NEXT TO THE PAVILION

There are picnic benches for seating and instrument cases. Sit with your family until it’s your turn to play.

Prepare your instrument when you get to the park. This may mean tightening and rosining your bow, tuning, and anything else you do before playing.

Follow the program! When the person BEFORE you goes to play, stand with your instrument and/or music, ready to walk up when it’s your turn.

$30 fee to play with an accompanist other than your teacher

  • for each major piece
  • automatically billed for your convenience

WHAT TO BRING:

  • reception contribution of one dozen treats (finger food–napkins only)
  • water, sunscreen, bug spray
  • your instrument (unless it’s piano)
  • your books (even if your piece is memorized)

WHAT TO WEAR:

Choose your outfit thoughtfully. You want something

•comfortable enough to move in (and run around in, if you want to use the playground afterwards)

      • and looks the way you want to present yourself

Violin and viola players–be conscious of buttons, buckles, and bows on your shoulders.

If in doubt, rehearse your pieces beforehand in your planned outfit to see whether anything gets in the way.

Also make sure you can stand for as long as you need to in the footwear you plan to perform in.
