Your Path to
a Full and Fun
Musical Experience

Do you want to play baroque violin music or take classical piano lessons? You might see yourself dressed fine, onstage with a grand piano.

Are you more of a blues piano player, or do you want to play violin like Lindsey Stirling?

Do you thrill to the tunes in your video games? Want to sit on your porch and play Cajun tunes on your fiddle?

You can do all that and more at Baton Rouge Conservatory, Baker Music Academy, and Ruth Roland Music Online.

No more waiting to get to the good stuff!

Our proven violin and piano methods let you use the entire fingerboard and keyboard from your very first day.

Most other methods restrict student access at first. Students become accustomed to a narrow range. They may become anxious when invited to advance to a new level.

Our gentle approach has produced concert violinists and accomplished pianists as well as avid amateurs.

You don’t have to be an advanced player to make music on piano, guitar, or violin.

Some folks need more encouragement, but everyone has something to say. We’ll share proven tools in the private lesson to have you playing music the way you always dreamed.

Holding a violin bow or pressing a piano key uses the same muscles as holding a crayon or spoon, but in totally different ways.

To gain comfort, it’s helpful to practice those new skills using plush toys and chunky markers, games and songs.

Even well-organized adults can have a hard time establishing a new habit, like daily  violin or piano practice

Busy people (like parents) and children often find it impossible to practice daily. But there’s hope! Our verified system of making habits small and celebrating achievement comes from Stanford’s Behavior Design Lab.

Our instructors are professional musicians.

We have decades of experience directing string programs and teaching privately and at universities. We’ve performed for and with famous musicians such as Dionne Warwick, Christopher Parkening, and Yo Yo Ma.

Most importantly, we care. Our mission is to help each of you chart your own path to musical mastery.

There are at least two recital opportunities each year. Admission is always free.

In addition, we may perform at the Farmers’ Market, senior centers, hospitals, and veterans’ homes.

What People Say About Us

I reached out in hopes that a new instructor might be the necessary spark to reengage my daughter’s initial excitement about learning to play violin. Without a doubt, it was one of the best decisions for her learning journey.

My teacher's patience and skill in communicating her knowledge to others is unparalleled by any other music teacher I have ever had. She is talented not only in violin but also in teaching her craft, which is not always the case with a musician of her high caliber. I will take lessons with her forever.
